nailbasics is an Edmonton-based company owned and operated by its founders, Tim and Kathi Rochemont. Tim and Kathi started with a dream to bring stronger knowledge, product quality, and distribution to gel nail techs across Canada. They were determined to create a better link between products and education. Bringing together their decades of industry experience, they started nailbasics, an all-in-one distributor, manufacturer, and educator in gel nails.
Since 2000, Tim and Kathi have continued to create premium

It’s a unique process that takes time and effort. nailbasics founder Kathi works directly with a team of qualified chemists to create our own line of premium gel nail products. Every person’s skin and nails are unique, which is why we are dedicated to creating products that are customized to work best for each individual.
Your clients deserve the best quality products. That’s why we
meticulously test and inspect every batch of our products. Our team checks the viscosity, colour, and odour of each product in house for up to three weeks to make sure it meets our high
standards. Only after this do we complete the packaging process and ship it to nail techs across Canada.

Our one-on-one educational courses will teach you how to use the nailbasics UV gel system for various applications. The course will be
custom-designed to suit your goals and level of experience.
Upon successful completion of your nailbasics course, you will be fully certified and ready to apply gel nails to clients from home or in a salon setting. Your Professional Nail Technician program begins with the P3 Module.

education leaders
nailbasics education leaders are practising gel nail technicians passionate about education. They provide customized one-on-one training at your pace. Our education leaders know gel nail products inside and out, including industry trends, and employ ergonomically friendly techniques. Once you’ve completed your training, you’ll be fully comfortable with creating gorgeous gel nails that your clients love. Plus, you’ll always have the ongoing support you need from your nailbasics family.
Learn Morenailbasics - Professional Nail Technician Program
The journey to your new career starts with a P3 program. This $150.00 program is designed as a practice module and allows you to “try before you buy”. This is a way to get a head start into your first day of the full program, with the hands-on knowledge that this is the career path for you. You will receive a kit with products to practice and prepare for your new career. The first day of the P3 is about 1 to 1 ½ hours where you will learn some basic manipulation of the gel. At home you will practice the techniques, once you are confident that this is the career path you would like to take, you will return to the Education Leaders desk to show your improvement and to make arrangements to start the program.
Your next step is the Introductory Program.
The Professional Nail technician Program delivers 21 hours of one-on-one education plus three one day classes (Health & Safety, Business Building, and Advanced Level 2).The remainder of the program is complimented with approximately 40 hours of home study and practice. Your choice in our program will provide you with a strong foundation to set you on the road to success. We strive to have your training completed in a 3 to 4 month time frame. The one-on-one classes are arranged as best possible to fit your lifestyle and time that you have to dedicate to your new career.
The tuition is $1647. The supplies come with options. There is an Entry Level Tools of the Trade kit that you can start your career off with top notch education on a realistic budget. There are a couple of different customized kits with some extras you may want, fitting into your budget. Also available is the Deluxe Tools of the Trade Kit that has all of the extras for added benefits in building your new career at your desk.
Totals for the kits, including tuition, start at $3185.28 for the Entry Level Tools of the Trade Kit to $4054.63 for the Deluxe Tools of the Trade Kit, including everything you would need for our program, excluding a desk and vacuum for the filtration system if applicable.
